Whether it is touching the stone walls of the Colosseum in Rome, practicing Spanish at the marketplace in Madrid, or savoring a fresh-baked baguette at a café in Paris, your student will have a unique and enriching educational experience. During the 2013-2014 school-year, we explored London, Paris (the city of lights), and then the beautiful landscapes of Normandy, where our students saw first-hand the beaches where our servicemen bravely fought during World War II. “Touring London and Paris was a great experience for my daughter, Maggie! We’ve seen pictures of Buckingham Palace and know that its where the Royal Family lives, but standing there actually looking at the balcony where the Prince and Princess stand was very surreal. Visiting the actual beach where Americans stormed Normandy was unbelievable! It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience for the both of us.” Mrs.Leigh Dewberry

During the 2014-2015 school-year, we traveled to the Emerald Isle, Ireland and experienced Irish culture and traditions including “kissing the Blarney Stone. ”  “Ireland was amazing. The castles and cathedrals were beautiful and made me feel very small. I learned about the culture and the history and I learned the history of my last name Ryan. The food was great, the animals were cute, and our guide was a ton of fun.” Noelle Ryan . When your child returns home with enthusiastic stories and pictures of an incredible time abroad, you’ll see the immediate impact the experience has had. However, the most significant and enduring effects may not emerge until later, as you see your child tackle challenges with newfound confidence, approach studies with more enthusiasm and maturity, and demonstrate more sensitivity to other people.

This year, we will be traveling to Spain. If you want to get more information about this unique opportunity, please contact LaDonna Sinsabaugh at lsinsabaugh@smsvb.net.   We would love to hear from you.

As St. Augustine noted, “The world is a book, and those who do not travel only read one page.”
